British-Kazakh Society
The Society was founded in 2002 to promote and develop relations between
the two countries at all levels. A measure of the importance placed on this
lies in the fact that the Society’s Patrons are President of Kazakhstan
Nursultan Nazarbayev and HRH The Duke of York.
With the support of corporate sponsors and members, the Society’s objectives are to:
- Raise mutual awareness in British and Kazakh business communities
- Promote educational and employment opportunities
- Harness the talents of small-to-medium sized enterprises
- Provide a high-level forum for business contacts
- Ease financial and cross-border barriers to better business relationships
Although the main emphasis of the programme of events is on generating
links and co-operation with government and industry, the Society is keen
to emphasize the importance of both educational and cultural matters. We
are conscious that a true relationship can only be forged by an
understanding of each country’s traditions and a commitment to the future
in the form of their young people.
