Mr Zhamishev, Minister of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan is participating in the third annual BKS Charity Race, setting example to 45 colleagues within the Ministry of Finance and associated offices, which is the largest group in the race of this year.

The British Embassy Astana conducts the “Going for Gold” campaign in anticipation of the London Olympic Games 2012. This comprises a series of enjoyable events involving Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan people featuring UK as an open, connected, dynamic and creative country. The Olympic photo-contest from 15 March to 31 August 2011 has called for the interesting and sparkling shots at sport occasions. The winners will be announced at the British-Kazakh Society Charity Run on 17 September 2011 in Astana. The winner will get Samsung Dual View Digital Camera and the next five places will be awarded with London 2012 Union Jack Cap.

The BKS 10k Charity Race has recently gained two additional sponsors – KIOGE and CCC. Their support will now allow us to bring the ChampionChip APEX active system, which provides an accurate reading of individual time of a runner.
ChampionChip Hunagy fully meets the requirements of International Triaphlon Unit and is very excited to add Astana to their impressive list of cities ranging from Athens and Abu Dhabi to Seoul.

The Mayor of London Boris Johnson wants to participate in the British-Kazakh Society Run in Astana on 11th September, but with other mayoral commitments cannot do this year. Nevertheless he does not rule out a future commitment.
Lord Fraser of Carmyllie QC, Chairman of the British-Kazakh Society said: “While for 2010 this is disappointing, I am encouraged by this heartfelt support for Astana and I am confident that if other duties allow it, he will join us in 2011 and I am equally confident he would receive a very warm welcome from his counterpart in Astana – the Mayor.”
